Rainy days and Java always get me down

I've Moved My Blog

It's currently located at http://www.urlinone.com/blog

I should say "I'm moving my blog." It's a pretty painful process.

Pebble has blown up on me, and it's been many months since I've been able to blog reliably. I've lost posts. And now I've got to figure out how to migrate my past blog posts from Pebble to my new destination without all the URLs changing, lest external links become 404 Not Founds.

Why does everything in the 21st century have to be a three-day project???

Oh, the frustrations of open source. I keep thinking about renaming my blog from JCranky to something less BileBlog-like, but then these kinds of things happen...

You (I) innocently download the new version of Chainsaw, thinking that it's an upgrade, only to find that you are (I am) no longer getting logging messages. "This can't be," we say to ourselves. "I know my application is spitting out a steady stream. Surely they wouldn't release version 2, if it didn't work."

Alright, we've suffered enough. Here's the short answer:

Simply remove the location information from your chainsaw appender configuration, and Chainsaw v2 will start seeing the messages.

See this for details.

Why don't they tell you this when you download Chainsaw v2? Well, where's the fun in that?! I guess "JCranky" stays.

Ouch..good points all around. Just for clarification, this is a bug and will be fixed before log4j 1.3 (on which Chainsaw V2 relies) is released.
